Games that are unblocked on a proxy server

The internet is one of the best sources of fun, education, and entertainment that you can think of. Every individual from all walks of life can attest to its pros and cons and its flexibility.  You can be happy with the net one second and then be sad and furious within minutes. One of the major contributors of online entertainment is online games. You can probably find any sort of game that you can think of online. However, due to the adverse effects of some online games, educational premises are promoting rules and security measures with the use of the internet for gaming. One security measure is the use of a proxy server. A proxy server is a server that acts as a medium for clients when seeking information from other servers. Its main role is to connect the client to the server it has asked for and then filter the information the client needs to get from that server. Depending on the filter rules, the proxy server will either provide the information to the client or it may block it. With the use of proxy servers, students then are not capable of downloading or opening certain sites they want to open or opening certain games they want to play, hence the term blocked games. On the other hand, there are also unblocked games at school that are readily available and downloadable online.

These unblocked games are very friendly, non aggressive stimulant, fun, and educational. Such games usually include dress up games, role play games, arcade games, puzzles and word games, mild shooting games, and strategy games. The aforementioned unblocked games are being studied and researched and are thought to provide zero negative psychological impacts to the players, even in the case of the players being kids. It is then advisable for parents and adults to always provide guidance with what their youngsters are doing with the internet even if they are only playing online games.

One of the best ways to find unblocked games for school use is to consider that school is a place of education, and if you consider that educational games can also be fun, then the school website itself would be a good place to look for games that you can play. If your school website doesn’t link to any, then you can try the school district website. Another place to look would be on public websites for your county, city and state public agencies.

Another good way to have access to unblocked games is to do the research yourself to find games that you would like to use at school, and present recommendations to the school administration. One type of game to request to be unblocked would be a math game. Math games can be fun and educational, so if you specifically request that a site be unblocked, you can show that it would be of benefit to unblock it. PBS Math Games are interesting, and you could make a positive case for unblocking these games.  You can also search for sites such as National Geographic Kids Games to see if this site is unblocked at school.

Mayhem Fest 2012 San Manuel Ampitheater

Mayhem Fest 2012

This year, I’m attending Mayhem Fest 2012 on June 30th in San Bernardino, California. This year’s line-up includes past greats such as Slayer, Anthrax, and as well as Motorhead. The headliner of the tour is Slipknot, which will play at all tour locations. The rest of the lineup includes As I Lay Dying, The Devil Wears Prada, Asking Alexandria, Whitechapel, Upon a Burning Body, I the Breather, Betraying the Martyrs, and Dirtfedd. My personal favorite is one of the infamous “Big 4” thrash metal bands of the 80s, Slayer. Also one of the “Big 4”, Anthrax is present in this year’s line up. Motorhead is famous for being the pioneers of 80s New Wave Brit-Metal. Slipknot, emerging in the mid-90s from of all places Iowa, soon gathered a cult-like following known as “maggots”; came on top as one of the most prominent heavy metal bands of the 21st century. Hardcore Christian bands, As I Lay Dying, The Devil Wears Prada, Betraying The Martyrs, and I, The Breather are gonna bring their heavy music with influence of their faith. Fan favorite, party hard Asking Alexandria is making an appearance followed by tons of die-hard fans. Whitechapel is one of most promising young Death Metal acts around, melting faces with their brutal vocals and their shredding three guitarists. Texas’ Upon A Burning Body is coming to tear it up with their hardcore bone crushing delivery of Metal. Heavy metal outfit Dirtfedd, natives of Nebraska, come with their diverse vocals and heavy sound influenced by some earlier hardcore bands such as Hatebreed, take the stage this year.

Here are a few suggestions on hotels near the San Manuel Ampitheater.  The San Manuel Casino has hotel rooms and it’s about 16 miles east of the Ampitheater. The Embassy Suites is always a favorite, near the Ontario Airport. It’s 14 miles away. The Hilton Garden Inn in Fontana is just over 10 miles away. The Hampton Inn and Suites in Colton is about 11 miles away. (If you need a 2 room suite you’ll need to select the Embassy Suites – all the suites at Hampton Inn are “studio suites” which means it’s a bedroom with a couch right there in the same room.) The Hilton Garden Inn San Bernardino is 12 miles away. The Hilton Garden Inn Ontario/Rancho Cucamonga is about 12 miles away. The Homewood Suites Ontario – Rancho Cucamonga is 12 miles away. So hopefully with this selection you’ll be able to find a room near the San Manuel Ampitheater.

Minecraft; An “Underground” Adventure

As I type this, I have my Minecraft open and running. As I type this, I am playing
Minecraft, and enjoying every moment of this magical experience. I have been playing since
the early days of Beta, specifically Beta 1.26, and have enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you,
Markus Perrson for changing my life.

The Beginning of Minecraft

Minecraft started out as a Java coding project under the helm of a Swede,
named Markus Persson. At it’s first stage, Minecraft was nothing more than a low-res,
adventure game. It was indie from the very beginning. As Minecraft came out of the mind of
Persson, it began to develop into a more rounded game. As it was being sold digitally, with no
physical copies available, sales boomed because of the lack of logistical issues. You see, when
something is available online, all one needs to do to sell said item is maintain it’s host server
and pay for internet fees. As the game grew in popularity, a forum, or community posting
board, was created. People posted their ideas to the forum, and Persson became involved in
the conversations, looking for fresh ideas, and accepting criticisms. As the game left the purely
developmental stage, with only a few of Persson colleagues testing the game, the game
entered the Alpha stage. As time went on, Persson updated the game frequently, fixing bugs
(problems), implementing new features, and sometimes even revamping a feature of the game.
At the time, the game was being billed at about 20 USD, with it officially being listed as 14.95
Euros. Since all of his transactions were online, Persson used PayPal, an online banking/buying
solution closely related with eBay. At one point when Persson tried to withdraw some funds to
start up Mojang, his game company that oversees all of the games that Persson and his team
create, PayPal suspected some fraudulence. Why you ask? Well, this is the funny part. The
PayPal account that acted as the inbox for all payments for Minecraft was nearing ONE
MILLION DOLLARS. When Persson attempted to withdraw funds from the account, it was frozen
from PayPal. Not only does this show how successful Minecraft was in it’s early days, but it
showed how a simple idea could blossom so gracefully and powerfully. With an insanely small
budget, Minecraft had boomed into a million dollar game. As Persson created Mojang, the
company that now works on Minecraft, he hired game developers fluent in Minecraft’s code
language, JavaScript. Some readers may know of JavaScript as a counterpart to website
programming, and simple game making. To think that a website programming language could
create what some call the “Best-Indie Game of All Time”, is astounding.

Crafting – The Basics

In Minecraft, you begin in the game (spawn, as it’s usually called) with nothing in
your inventory. Your first step is to acquire wood. Wood is found in the game in the form of
trees. At this point, your character has no tools, and so you must literally punch a tree to collect
its bountiful harvest, wood. This task only takes a few minutes, and once it is done, you have
wooden logs. These logs can be broken down into planks, and from planks to sticks. Sticks are
what you want the most in the beginning, followed by planks. Logs serve nearly no purpose
besides a different texture than that of planks. When you combine FOUR planks on your
inventory crafting screen (Press the “E” key, it will be in the top above your inventory), you can
create , or CRAFT a crafting box inside your 2×2 crafting grid. The importance of the crafting box
cannot be over stressed. Without this simple block, you cannot survive. Once you create and
place your crafting box, click it. Once you click it, you will find that there is a 3×3 crafting grid.
The difference between your built in inventory crafting grid and the crafting box grid, is the fact
that the inventory can only create a few simple blocks (torches, etc.) and the crafting box can
create everything you made need (besides enchantments and potions, both of which I will go
over later). Once you create and place your crafting box, right-click on the box, place TWO
sticks in the center-bottom, with one on the very middle-bottom, and one in the dead center.
Once you do this, place THREE wooden planks on the very top row. You should see a symbol
appear on the other side of the crafting box. This is the symbol of a PICKAXE. This is your best
friend. Click and drag the pickaxe into your 10 “hot-spots” (the available slots that you can
switch from using the mouse wheel , or the number keys on your keyboard). Once you have
placed the pickaxe in a “hot-spot”, switch to that hotspot. You should see your character
holding a pickaxe. Once you have done this, find a mountain with exposed rock. Mine the rock
by clicking AND holding the left-click on the mouse. Once you have accumulated THREE stone
(it will read cobblestone in your inventory), go back to where you placed your crafting box.
Repeat the steps you used to make your wooden pickaxe, only replace the wooden planks with
the cobblestone. You should see a different colored pickaxe on the other side of the crafting
grid. Click and drag your new pickaxe to one of your available “hot-spots”. This COBBLESTONE
pickaxe can mine iron, gold, and has a speedier mine speed when mining COAL. Acquiring coal
is your next big objective. Coal appears naturally in the world, usually on the sides of
mountains, and inside caves. I suggest looking for coal first in the exposed form in mountains. I
only say this is the best idea because in caves it is VERY dark. Why does this matter? Well,
Minecraft would be boring without enemies, right? Exactly. There are enemies, and they spawn
in the DARK! This is why it is important to avoid tunneling down into mineshafts before you are
at a point where you can place TORCHES. Torches are created when you mine COAL from
mountains and mines. Once you acquire coal, place the coal in your inventory crafting grid, with
sticks underneath the coal. The two items have to touch. Once you do so, you should see a symbol appear in the output slot in your crafting grid. One piece of coal and one stick produce FOUR torches (THANKS MR.PERSSON!!!). Once you create enough torches, place them in one of
your available “hot-spots” in your inventory. To place a torch, right-click on the ground or a wall
within your reach (4 blocks). You will notice at night your environment around the torch will
become illuminated. This makes sure monsters do not spawn around that torch.

Survival – The Basics

At this point in time, you may notice the world is getting dark! Quickly, before
night falls, build a shelter! I suggest mining or digging into a mountain, and create a room. Once
you have created a room, place torches inside the room, and place ONE block at foot level in
front of the doorway. This is so mobs cannot enter, but you can see outside when it is day! And
now, you can play the waiting game. But if you are courageous (and have a lot of torches) you
can mine inside your small room. NEVER mine directly downwards (I’ll explain why in a few
minutes), instead mine in a stairway down. If you find coal, make more torches. You may also
find a strange block in your mineshaft. It is Iron, Gold, or Diamond! Congratulations! You have
found your FIRST precious ORE! You most likely found Iron, which is the second sturdiest tool
making supply. Iron is a shade of white-gray. Mine it with your COBBLESTONE pickaxe. You
should get a miniature emblem of the ore in your inventory. Go back up to where you placed
your crafting box. Place EIGHT cobble around the outside of the crafting grid. You should see an
emblem labeled “furnace” in the output slot. Click and drag the emblem into one of your “hot-
spots”, and place next to your crafting grid. You can place a block by right clicking onto another
block. Once you have placed your furnace, right click it. You should see three slots. The top left
is where you place you ores (your Iron goes here), the one below is where you place the fuel
(coal, logs, wood , sticks), and the far right is the OUTPUT slot, where you receive your finished
ingot. Place all the required blocks into their respective place, and wait, You should see the bar
between the output and the input boxes begin to move to the right, this is the progress bar for
your smelting process. Once it is full, an iron ingot appears in the OUTPUT box.

We’ll be continuing the instructions in the next post. If you have any questions please leave a comment.

Minecraft Servers

How Can You Find the Minecraft Game?

It’s simple! First you need to register at the minecraft.net site (not minecraftforum.net). Secondly, you need to purchase the game to play, and eventually join minecraft servers. You can use credit, debit, or PayPal to purchase Minecraft. After you have purchased the game, you need to download the game from the minecraft.net site. Finally, after you have downloaded Minecraft, you need to type in your username and password. It’s the same username and password that you would use to log into the minecraft.net site. Now you should see a screen that is downloading  the contents of minecraft. Your download time depends on your internet speed. After you see the Mojang screen, you are ready to play on minecraft servers!!! If you want to read about the customization of your minecraft world, click here for minecraft skins.

What are Minecraft Servers?

Minecraft servers are basically an SSP world (Survival Single Player) , but other people can join in and fight off Creepers with you!  Some are themed, i.e. Medieval Role-Play, some are Death-match, and others are simple free-build where everyone is welcome. Others are Pay-to-Play, where you pay the server a monthly due to play on the minecraft server.

How Many Minecraft Servers are There?

In real life, anyone with a decent computer and medium-speed internet can host a server or play on someone else’s server.

Are There Free Minecraft Servers?

Yes, in fact Minecraft free servers outnumber pay-to-play servers 100 to 1 in most cases. There are good free servers, just like there are good pay-to-play servers, and the opposite is true too!

What  are the Requirements of Minecraft?

There are only a few requirements your computer must have in order to play Minecraft, or play on a Minecraft Server or servers. First, your computer must have enough RAM (Random Access Memory). RAM is crucial to playing minecraft, because whenever you are doing something (or not doing something) a computer controlled creature is roaming around in your world. This is handled by RAM. Another requirement is that your Video Card, or Video Adapter must support Open GL. Open GL is basically a feature of modern video cards/adapters. If your video card/adapter does not support Open GL, I suggest looking for updates for your video card/adapter. If there are no updates for your video card/adapter, there are very inexpensive video card/adapters that support Open GL.

Minecraft is an amazingly fun game where you can play with friends, fight off hordes of beasts, and have fun!  Why not try a download and start having fun yourself!

Minecraft Skins

What’s Minecraft?

What’s a Minecraft? Minecraft is a single player and multiplayer game in which your only goal is to survive and thrive.   It is built in the Java coding language, not the drink.  You can play online on your computer when you’re not hooked up to the internet, and Minecraft is an exciting online multiplayer game too. You can play on minecraft servers.   (It’s a sandbox multiplayer – no real point to the game besides to play it.)

What’s a Minecraft Skin?

A Minecraft skin is your look in-game. In Minecraft, your default skin is bland and boring. but thankfully Notch, who created the game, created a system that allowed you to create (if you’re feeling creative) or copy someone else’s (If you’re not feeling creative) minecraft skin. What is a minecraft skin?  A minecraft skin is basically what you look like in game. You could look like Notch himself if you really wanted to!  That’s the beauty of it!  You can do anything you want. I personally play as a zombie to scare my fellow miners.

What’s the Default Skin?

At default, your skin is Steve. No one knows why, but Steve doesn’t look a thing like Notch. But anyway, you can change your character from Steve to anyone (or anything) you want! Do skins for minecraft change your ability to change the game? Nope. The skin is purely aesthetic. Do you need skins for minecraft? No, unless you like looking cool! All the cool kids are doing it.

How Do You Change Your Skins For Minecraft?

To change your skin in Minecraft;

  1. First, you have to have bought Minecraft.
  2. After that you have to create a skin, or copy a skin.
  3. To download the original skin, go to the minecraft.net site, and save the template image.
  4. Then you can modify to your hearts content.
  5. You then upload your newly modified or copied skin on the same page you downloaded the orignal minecraft skin.

For those of us who don’t have the art in them, and who want an individual skin made just for them, you can always ask politely on a Minecraft forum ( there are many; google is your friend ), go to a thread on skins, and ask kindly.

What Is The Best Minecraft Skin?

Frankly, they’re all really the best. The fact that you can change everything about your character is awesome. I think I would dress my player in anything, A to Z. In summary, a minecraft skin is your online look when you’re playing Minecraft.
